Obituary for England

Mildred Balch England, nee Havens, age 101, at rest, Wednesday, January 1, 2003 in Plainfield, Illinois. She was a long time resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, formerly of Topeka, Kansas. Beloved wife of the late Charles E. England and O. Earl Balch. She was preceded in death by one sisters, Eva; and two brothers, Vernon and Charles. She is survived by her nephew, Jack Emery and wife Catherine; and innumerable nieces, nephews, and cousins. She retired from the Santa Fe Railroad Company after a distinguished career of 36 years. She was an 82 year member and Matron of Eastern Star, Helena Chapter #210, and an 80 year member of the Ancient Toltec Rite, both of Topeka, KS. In Albuquerque she was a long standing member of the First Presbyterian Church having served as a past Deacon and a Helpline volunteer. Additional affiliations included Daughters of the Nile and Alhaydaiya Committee, Shriners Group Honored Ladies, and the Pilot Club where she was a Past President and District Governor, all organizations of Albuquerque. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 10, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 215 Locust NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Albuquerque. Private internment at Sunset Memorial Park.
