Obituary for Beserra

Refugio"Cuco" Roy Beserra, 77, a lifetime resident of Albuquerque, passed away at Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. He was a graduate of the 83rd session of the F.B.I Academy and he attended Keller Polygraph School in Chicago and was the 1st certified Polygraph examiner in New Mexico. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mela; sons, Ronald and wife, Carol, Richard, and Patrick and wife, Anne; grandchildren, Troy, Tracey, Colby, Kimberly, Roy Brock, Richard, and Helene; great-grandchildren, Emma Carol, Erik, and Brianna. He retired from the Albuquerque Police Department after 33 1/2 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 99 and the F.O.P. He was also survived by many loving sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Ross Tafoya, Ben Barreras, Ben Micheal Barreras, Ray Vargas, Larry Perea, Victor Beserra, Greg Avila, and Frank Murillo. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. A Mass will be celebrated Saturday, January 4th at 9:00 a.m. at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Committal Services will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW.
