Obituary for Romero

Porfirio Romero, 93, of Ranchos de Taos passed away on December 25, 2002. He ministered in several Northern New Mexico churches, as well as Colorado and San Antonio, TX. He retired from the Cuba Presbyterian Church, after retirement he was pastor emeritus at the Ranchos Presbyterian Church. He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth Romero on December 6, 1999; his son, Victor Romero in 1956; and brother, Nelson Romero in 1999. He is survived by his children, Mary Louise Trujillo (Meliton), Eleanor Romero all of Ranchos; grandson, Robert Trujillo (Sue) and Deanna Reyes (Angel) all of Taos. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, Angel and Elizabeth Reyes, Robert Louis Trujillo; brothers and sisters, Miguel Romero (Celia) of Albuquerque, Cande Aguilar of El Valle, Cordie Aguilar (Abe) of Penasco, Celestino Romero (Dulcie) of Taos, Sammy Martinez of Albuquerque; numerous nephews, nieces and other relatives. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Taos. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Romero's name may be made to Ranchos Presbyterian Church or Menaul School Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 36, Ranchos de Taos, NM 87557.
