Obituary for Martinez

Clara Martinez, 87, passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on February 21, 2003. She was born in Santa Rita, NM on November 26, 1915 to Pasqual Jimenez and Minnie Swartz. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Pasqual and Henry and sisters Virginia and Rosa. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Julio of Albuquerque; daughter, Lora Otero and husband David; sons, Robert Martinez and wife Karen, Louis Martinez and wife Melissa, and Marc Martinez and wife Janette, all of Albuquerque. She leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 16 great grand children, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Surviving siblings include, Julian Jimenez and wife Ruth, Arturo Jimenez and wife Guera, Lucinda Garcia and husband Pete, Rita Holguin and husband Edward, Mary Miranda, and Sara Puentes and husband Sal (Chava). Clara was a devoted catholic and a member of the Blue Army. She was a loving and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed. Rosary will be recited Tuesday, February 25, 2003, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, February 27, 2003, 9:00 a.m., at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 833 Arizona S.E. with Father Thomas Mayefske, Celebrant. Interment will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers are David, Mike, Daniel, Manny, Michael, Carlos Otero, and Eric Martinez.
