Obituary for Davis

Theodore R."Tedd" Davis, Jr., Retired from The New Mexico State Taxation and Revenue Department. He was the Bureau Chief of the Property Appraisal Bureau, passed away February 28, 2003. He was born October 17, 1938. Mr. Davis is survived by his brother, Charles Davis and wife, Vicki Davis of Davis California; and his sister, Marian Davis Silver, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Godson, Richard Johnson and his family. Preceding him in death, his father, Theodore R. Davis, Sr.; his mother, Odessa Davis; and brother, Jonathan F. Davis. As a youngster, Tedd worked at his father's business, Ted's Texaco Station, and later operated and managed the business from time to time. He attended the University of New Mexico and served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves. He traveled extensively throughout the country with the J. J. Jacobson & Company. If a man's riches can be determined by the number of his friends, Mr. Davis, indeed, had prosperity beyond measure. His love for his family and friends was intense and lacked limitations. He had an appreciation of art, music, and vintage automobiles. He loved the diversity and richness of the southwest culture. He will be greatly missed by all. Visitation for Mr. Davis will be Tuesday, March 4, 2003, 2:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 2401 University Blvd SE. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 5, 2003, 11:00 a.m., at Mount Olive Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Youth Department Scholarship fund at Mount Olive Baptist Church. Cremation and interment will be handled by the Metropolitan Cremation Center.
