Roy Raymond Chavez, 50, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday March 15, 2003. He is preceded in death by his mother, Rose A. Chavez., He is survived by his father, Gabriel P. Chavez and wife, Agnes of Albuquerque. He is also survived by his companion, Dywane Gentilini of Albuquerque; daughter, Felicia Martinez and husband, Rod; sister, Jeannette Chavez and Robert Clapp of Grants; sister, Dolores Sisneros and husband, Ben; brother, Danny Chavez of California; sister, Dianne Slater of California, Sarah Angie Gutierrez of Albuquerque. His only grandson, Romeo Martinez; and 16 nephews and nieces. Special thanks to Dr. Fachyi Lee at UNM Hospital. At the end of his life he was under the care of University Hospice. Special thanks are extended to his nurse Leslie Carruthers and his social worker Diane Longeway, and Deacon Al McLane from St. Bernadette's Catholic Church. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to University Hospice, 1650 University NE, Suite 200, Albuquerque, NM 87102. A Rosary will be recited at Aspen Funeral Alternatives Chapel, 1935 Juan Tabo NE, on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday March 20, 2003 9:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Rd.
