Obituary for Templeton

Frank Templeton, 98, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2003. He was born on June 5, 1904 to Frank and Amanda Banks Templeton in Range County, TX. As a young boy, he moved with his parents by covered wagon to New Mexico where his parents and 12 siblings homesteaded in the Taos-Carson area. Frank joined the Marines at 18 and was assigned to the USS Maryland in the Cuba-Panama area. He always participated with the Marine Corps Rifle Team and was honored to win the"Navy E" for his shooting ability. Later he worked with the Calvary and thus started a lifelong love of horses and animals. Frank was active in his church and was nicknamed"the Candy Man" by all of the children. He loved to serve in the temple each week and did so up until his death. Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn; son, Renae; and grandson, Rodney. Survivors include his daughter, Mary; granddaughters, Kathy Bishop and husband, Myron and Cheri Johnson and husband, Jeff; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be Thursday, March 20 at 1:00 p.m. at the LDS Church at 12701 Indian School Road NE with burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rick Wadley, Steve Wadley, Ryan Bishop, Nathan Bishop, Don LaFond, Michael Gardner, Roger Thompson and James Witt. Honorary Pallbearers will include Drew McGinnis, Myron Bishop, Aaron Bishop, Matthew Bishop, Carson Anderson, Conrad Anderson, Jeff Johnson, Derek Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Spencer Johnson, Tanner Johnson, Richard Wadley and Howard Shupe.
