Obituary for Hallmark

Elizabeth (Betty) Ranallo Chambon Hallmark was born May 5, 1924, in Pittsburgh, PA, the sixth child of immigrant parents, Enrico Ranallo and Maria Concetta Ricci, from Ateleta, Italy. She passed into Jesus' arms on March 15, 2003, while a guest at Paloma Blanca Health and Rehabilitation. She lived in Albuquerque, NM for the past five years, and was active as a volunteer resident board member and kitchen staff member in the retirement homes where she resided. Betty, while short in stature, was a woman of stubborn determination and strong faith in Jesus Christ. She fought breast cancer for the past thirteen years before suddenly succumbing to complications associated with that disease. She worked in all phases of restaurant operation for the past forty years, from waitress to restaurant manager. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Charles Homer Chambon; her oldest brother, Amico (Mike) Ranallo; her oldest sister, Berha Ranallo Brill; and her first born child, Robert Charles Chambon. Betty is survived by her children, Maryann Chambon Holmes and her husband, Eric, of Rio Rancho, NM; John Thomas Chambon and wife, Liz, of Manassa, VA; her six grandchildren, Sgt. (USA ) Thomas C. Walters and his wife, Jeanette; SPC (USA ) Dawn M. Walters-Holmberg, Jason Chambon, Jennifer L. Holmes, Yvette Zenoteno and her husband, Wilson, and Kimberly C. Lambro and her husband, Jason; and five great-grandchildren, Elizabeth M. Williams, Christopher Henderson, Victoria C. Holmes, Steven Henderson and Vincent Walters. A Visitation will be held Thursday, March 20, 2003, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Sunrise Funeral Options, at 7601 Wyoming Blvd. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 21, 2003 also at Sunrise Funeral Options with Pastor Rick Donaho as officiant. Entombment will follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park (Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Lane) in Rio Rancho. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Research. A reception will follow at the Holmes' family residence for family and friends. Betty will be missed by all her family and friends, but will be so welcomed in heaven by a most beloved and missed son, Bobby. Services under the care of Sunrise Funeral Options (505) 891-9292
