Obituary for Hernandez

Mr. Daniel Hernandez, 70, a life long resident of Los Lunas, New Mexico passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on April 10, 2003. Mr. Hernandez is the beloved husband of 47 years to Mrs. Amelia Hernandez. Mr. Hernandez is also survived by three daughters, Mildred Chavez and husband, Ambrose, Yolanda Hernandez, Cynthia Romero and husband, Patrick; one son, Daniel C. Hernandez and wife, Bernadine; four sisters, Cruz Gabaldon and husband, Jose, Aurora Gutierrez, Carmen Carrasco, Virginia Aragon and husband Anthony; two brothers, Pablo Hernandez Jr. and wife Flora, Pete Hernandez and wife, Josie; nine grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Hernandez was preceded in death by his parents, Pablo and Manuela Hernandez; a sister, Belen Gurule; brothers in law, Robert Gutierrez, Nick Carrasco Sr. and Manuel Gurule. Mr. Hernandez was a member of the Catholic Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps proudly serving in the Korean Conflict, he was a past Marshal for the Village of Los Lunas, he enjoyed farming, wood work and he loved his family. A visitation for Mr. Hernandez will be Sunday evening after 7:00pm with a Vigil Service at 7:30pm at San Clemente Catholic Church in Los Lunas. A final visitation will be Monday morning from 11:30am until 12 noon with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 12 noon by Father Zerwas. A committal Service will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00pm. Pallbearers will be, Jerry Gabaldon, Felix Gurule, Peter Hernandez, Anthony Aragon Sr., Michael Hernandez, Nick Carrasco Jr. and Robert Gutierrez Jr. Honorary will be his grandchildren, Jennifer, Kimberly, Amanda Chavez, Victoria, Frances, Matthew Hernandez, Patrick Daniel, Christopher and Gabriel Romero.
