Obituary for Covey

Carl L. Covey, 83, a resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, April 10, 2003. He is survived by his son, Richard Covey and wife Diane of Arizona; daughters, Ellen Covey and companion Narciso Duran of Albuquerque, Jane Covey of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Colleen, Jennifer, Laura and partner Tieshia, Shannon, Samantha, Rochelle, Theresa, Chris, Erika, Ashley, and Rebecca; and great-grandson, Nicholas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Covey on September 13, 1998. He was born and raised in Lima, Ohio. He served in the Army Air Force during WWII. Upon honorable discharge he attended Ohio State where he obtained his degree in Accounting. He married Laura Robinson on October 20, 1950 and they resided in Ohio and Wisconsin before moving to Rio Rancho, New Mexico in 1971. He worked for Boyd Engineering until his retirement. After retiring they enjoyed traveling the world and they campground hosted at several state and national parks. He was a beloved father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Services will be held at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE, on Tuesday, April 15, 2003, 10:30 a.m. with Chaplain Lemuel Boyles officiating. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven. Pallbearers will be Laura Covey, Tieshia Perea, Narciso Duran, Ken Kendall, Martin Kalwasinski and Chris Covey. Visitation will be Monday, April 14, 2003, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association - NM Affiliate, PO Box 90790, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87199-0790.
