Irene E. Lucero died Monday, April 21, 2003 in Albuquerque at the age of 68. Mrs. Lucero is survived by her husband, Jose E. Lucero; sons, Jesse Lucero (Barbara), and Anthony R. Lucero (Don); brother, Max G. Tafoya (Fab); great-niece, Veronica I. Sanchez, reared by Irene and Jose Lucero; five grandchildren, Jesse Jr. (Peggy), James (Yvonne), Kathryn (Ben), Nicole, and Jacquelyn Lucero; five great-grandchildren, Jesse III, Dominic, Andrew, Naomi, and Katrina Lucero; nieces and nephews, George (Tina) Tafoya, Luis (Renee) Tafoya, Cindy Tafoya, Noe (Edwina) Chavez, Velma (Lu) De La O, Kenneth (Kathy) Chavez, Anna Marie (Ricky) Griego, Dean Chavez, Ramon (Rose) Tafoya, Sally (Peter) Barreras, Dolores (Raul) Pena, Georgia (Herman) Gurule, Geraldine (Orlando) Sanchez, Mary Tafoya, and Johnny Tafoya. Pallbearers will be George Tafoya, Luis Tafoya, Johnny Tafoya, Kenneth Chavez, Ramon Tafoya and Noe Chavez. Honorary Pallbearers will be David Griego and Sam Griego. A Rosary for Mrs. Lucero will be recited on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Rio Rancho. Funeral Services for will be held on Friday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at San Carlos Cemetery.
