Obituary for Kobes

Mabel A. Kobes, 94, a resident of Albuquerque since 1958, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2003. Mabel was born on October 1, 1908 in Thief River Falls, MN. As matriarch of a family with diverse interests, she encouraged excellence in personal and professional endeavors. She will be greatly missed. Mabel is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Karl Kobes of Albuquerque; son, Richard Kobes and wife, Janie of Conroe, TX; daughter, Kathy Dohrer and husband, Gregg of Longview, TX; grandsons, Glenn Kobes and wife, Christine of Spring, TX and Jeffrey Kobes and wife, Beth of Austin, TX; granddaughters, Melissa Koehler and husband, Doug of Grand Prairie, TX and Emily Dohrer of Dallas, TX; great-grandsons, Ben Kobes, Callaway Kobes, and Blake Koehler; great-granddaughters, Lauren Kobes and Emily Kobes; her brother, Reubin Johnson of Kalispell, MT; and many nieces and nephews. Mabel was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Saturday, April 26th, 12:00 noon, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1100 Indian School Rd NE, with The Rev. Patricia Holman officiating. Interment of cremains will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and in thanks for the support and assistance she received from Hospice, contributions to honor her memory may be made to Presbyterian Hospice, 8100 Constitution Place, Albuquerque, NM 87110.
