Obituary for Contreras

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Wednesday April 30, 2003

Ronald Anthony Contreras, 29, was called home to be with our Lord on Saturday April 26. A lifetime resident of Albuquerque's North Valley he was born on October 24, 1973. Ronnie had a wide variety of tastes, including drawing, music, and fixing cars, but most importantly he loved spending time with his children. His three blessed children, Raphael, Jacob, and Elijah; and his loving wife, Alisha were the true light and pride of his life. Ronnie will be greatly missed, especially by his lifelong supporter and mother, Gloria Chavez-Davis. Ronnie truly enjoyed hanging out with his friends, especially his close friend and sister, Angela. He is also survived by Gloria's husband, Steve Davis; father, Ronald Contreras; youngest sister, Marie; and his grandmother, Nellie Chavez. Ronnie was preceded in death by his grandfather, Tranquilino Chavez. Ronnie has left us with so many wonderful memories and he will always be alive in the hearts of his family and friends. A Rosary will be recited Thursday, May 1, 2003, 7:00 p.m. at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church on the corner of 4th Street and Alameda NW in Albuquerque. A Mass will be celebrated Friday, May 2, 2003, 9:00 a.m. also at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, with Father Juan Mendez officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery.
