Obituary for Acree

Sadie Acree, 93, a resident of Albuquerque since 1947 was called home to her Lord on April 26, 2003. Sadie was born on August 25, 1909 on a farm near Flemingsberg, KY. She was a generous and good-hearted person whose sons and grandchildren meant the world to her. Sadie is survived by her three sons, Elwood"Woody: and wife, Martha, Edward and wife, Nancy, and James and wife, Gloria. Sadie is also survived by nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all. Sadie was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Elwood"Red" Acree. Sadie retired from the Veterans Hospital in 1972 as a dietician. Although she was unable the last several years, Sadie loved to travel and fish with her husband and sons. Sadie also loved her church and has been a member of Harwood United Methodist Church since moving to Albuquerque in 1947. Services will be held on April 30, 2003 at 2:00 p.m., at Harwood United Methodist Church, 420 San Lorenzo NW, with Reverend Andy Husted officiating. Interment will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Anthony, Nathan, Daniel, John, Edward Jr., and Edward III. Honorary Pallbearers are Tony Aragon and Charlie Hern. In Lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Sadies name to the Harwood Methodist Church. A reception will follow the graveside services at Harwood Methodist Church.
