Obituary for Arellano

Hellen S. Arellano went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 30, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. Helen was married to Nemey Arellano on February 6, 1945 while Nemey was in the U.S. Navy during WWII. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Nemey Arellano; son, Richard (Rick) Arellano; daughters, Kathee Macias and husband, Vince, Suzanne Ciardella and husband, Roy. Hellen had four grandchildren, Chad and Brooke Wilson and Nolan and Nathan Ciardella. She is also survived by her best friend and dear sister, Donna Rebensdorf and husband, Bill; sister-in-law, Nina Stevens and several nieces and nephews. Hellen was preceded in death by her parents, Donald E. Stevens and Flora Santistevan Stevens and also by her brother, Ted Stevens. Hellen graduated from Taos High School in 1942. After her marriage to Nemey, the couple lived in Wisconsin for two years and in California for 38 years, before returning to New Mexico to live out their retirement in 1993. She was greatly loved and will be dearly missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, sister, extended family and friends. Rosary will be recited on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Joseph Dr. NW. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. also at the church with Father Frank Prieto, Celebrant. Burial will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
