Obituary for Peterson

Howard Charles Peterson passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2003. He was born on July 15, 1927, in Worcester, MA, and came to New Mexico with the Army Air Corps in WWII. He was assigned to Operation Crossroads. Later, after graduating from the University of New Mexico he became a newspaperman. His first job as a reporter was with the Albuquerque Journal. In 1960, he joined Pacific Stars and Stripes in Tokyo, Japan, where he was Managing Editor from 1970-1979. Mr. Peterson is survived by his mother, Ethel Peterson; and his two daughters, Helen and Catherine; and Catherine's husband, James Moorhouse. Mrs. Edith H. Peterson pre-deceased him in 1974.
