Obituary for Williams

Earnest H. Williams passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2003. He was born on May 15, 1920 to William Kawanvema and Hennie Hononie Kewanvema in S'hongopavi, Arizona. He was 82. He is survived by his two sons, Earnest Williams of New Laguna, NM and Rudford E. Williams and his wife, Loretta of Gallup, NM; and four sisters. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Williams in 1992; his parents, his brothers and four sisters. Mr. Williams provided 30 years of civil service from 1952-1981 at Fort Wingate as the school cook, served in the U.S. Navy, and was Pow Wow Arena director. A Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2003 at Grants Mortuary Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2003 at Laguna Acoma Baptist Church with Pastor Richard Delores officiating. Burial will follow at Casa Blanca Cemetery. Pallbearers will include his family and friends. Grants Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements.
