Obituary for Morello

Joseph R. Morello passed away May 13, 2003. Born in Schenectady, NY October 10, 1917, Joseph was a graduate of Pratt Institute and received his MA from Ohio State University. He spent most of his life in the arts, teaching at Columbus School of Fine Art, UNM and Del Norte High School. He also taught at NM Art League and was curator there for one year. Joseph was enchanted by the beauty of the Southwest and its culture, making it his home since 1951. Joseph is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughter, Licia Morello; granddaughter, Andrea Morello-DuPree; brother, Nick; and sister-in-law, Sadie; stepsons, Lawrence Carmignani and Robert Carmignani; step-grandchildren, Christen and JR Pike; and their sons, Jackson and Parker; step-granddaughter, Lawren Carmignani. The family would like to thank the many loving friends who have shared in times of joy and sorrow and to Hospice for the wonderful care they provided. A private family service will be held.
