Obituary for Epp

Wynnette Elizabeth Benedict Epp passed away early Friday from a short illness. She was born in Katonah Westchester County New York June 27, 1918. She attended Colorado College and Julliard School of Music in New York City. She married Konstantin Epp and had two children, Madelaine and Paul. She was soloist and choir director fro Christ United Church Soloist for First United Church of Christianity and First Church of Religious Science. She was president of the Albuquerque Music Club and President of the New Mexico Junior Musicians that presented varied and excellent programs. She was patroness of the SAI Music Sorority. She was also a member of the New Mexico Federation of Music Clubs and the National Federation of Music Clubs. She was a member of the New Mexico Organic Growers Association, the National Health Federation, the Progress Woman's Club where she was program chairman of the literature group, the Lew Wallace Chapter of the DAR where she served as chaplain years ago. She was on the Board of Woman's Voters for three years. She worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Company now US West where she handled the purchases and sale of real estate for the company in New Mexico. She provided talking book machines for the blind throughout New Mexico. She also did special research studies for ATT&T headquarters in New York City. She is survived by son, Paul Benedict Epp and wife, Linda of Valdosta, GA; daughter, Madelaine Epp Leonard Pinkerton and husband, George of Valdosta, GA; granddaughter, Leslie M. Leonard of Joplin, MO; grandson, Clinton M. Leonard of Athens, GA; brother, Thomas M. Benedict of Vancouver, WA; nephew, Dale T. Benedict of Flagstaff, AZ; cousin, Joy C. Williams and husband, Phil of Hattiesburg, MS; cousin, Charles E. Carlson and (deceased) wife, Toby of Lexington, KY; cousin, Marilyn Childs and husband, Harold of Justin Morgan Horse Farm, Turnbridge, VA; cousin, Steve M. Conger and wife, May of Leesburg, VA; and cousin, Richard M. Conger and wife, Faith of Princeton, NJ and Honolulu, HI.
