Obituary for Davenport

LaNell Anna Davenport, 88, a resident of Belen, NM passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2003. She was a member of the First Christian Church. When her eyesight allowed her, she was always embroidering. LaNell loved to embroider pillow cases and table cloths in which her family has saved for years and take out on occasion to admire her work. She worked with Belen Public Schools as a cook for all different grade levels, for 15 years. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ernest"Bo" Davenport in 1991; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Don Redfearn; her brother, Buddy Redfearn; her two sisters, Donelda Miller; and Evelyn Murillo; and her brother, Delbert Redfearn. LaNell is survived by her six loving children, Billy Davenport and Adrienne of CA, Barbara Hinojosa and Manuel of TX, Donna Conrad of Albuquerque, NM, Nancy Reynolds of IN, Betty Johnson and Gil of TX, Carolyn Romero of Albuquerque, NM; eleven grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and her brother, Don Redfearn of AZ. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Monday, May 19, 2003 from 6-7:00 p.m. at Romero Funeral Home Chapel. A final viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at 9:30 a.m. at the Belen Christian Church followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Jim Wilburn officiating. Interment will follow. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Ian and Israel Shelly; and Ernest De Moss; her nephews, Ivan and Bryan Miller; her friends, Glen Oliver; Manuel Gallegos; and Steve Archibald.
