Obituary for Cummings

William"Butch" 58, born on January 11, 1945 in Washington, D.C. and raised in Richmond, Virginia and a resident of Albuquerque since 1971. He is survived by his daughter Kelli Cummings of Albuquerque; son, Chris Cummings, sister Joyce Ann and husband, Gary Hylton; brother, Herbert and wife Irma Cummings; sister, Connie and husband, Joe Brunner; brothers, Raymond, Charlie, and Gordon Cummings who all reside in Virginia and sister, Earlene and husband, Mike Schurick who reside in Oklahoma. Mother-in-law Amena Conty; sister-in-law, Paula Jameson; brother-in-law, Frank and wife Nancy Conty; nephew, Roger Jameson; nieces, Tina Jameson and Sheila and husband, Roy McDonald and great niece, Amena Jameson all of Albuquerque and many other nieces and nephews from Virginia. He was preceded in death by his wife Jane of 25 years and parents Catherine and Raymond Earl Cummings. Butch as most of us knew him, worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 20 years, retiring in 1996. He also loved to take RV trips with his family, visiting almost every state. Hunting, fishing, and camping were his greatest pleasures. He was a skilled craftsman, he loved to weld, and make cabinets. Butch was a very devoted husband, father, family member and friend and he will be greatly missed and loved by all. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday at French Mortuary - University Blvd. Chapel with visitation starting at 6:00 p.m. Prayer Service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at French Mortuary - University Blvd. Chapel, with the Deacon Bob Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Cummings, Roger Jameson, Bill McCarver, Dan Wenz, Paul Conty, Frank Lewis, Frank Shearer and Gary Hylton.
