Obituary for Fernando

Francisco Fernando, veteran, U.S. Air Force retired, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 20, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Julia Fernando; son, Lee J. Herrera and wife, Jeannette of Lisle, Illinois, daughter, Carmelita Fernando of Albuquerque, and son, Frank Fernando, Jr. and wife, Marti of Albuquerque, and grandchildren, Noel, Claire, and Nicholas Fernando. Four brothers and one sister, many nieces and nephews and other family and friends who loved and will miss him also survive him. His mother-in-law, Carmelita Montoya preceded him in death. As a youth, he joined the Armed Forces and was transferred to Sandia Base in Albuquerque, where he met and married his wife, Julia. Francisco was a Master Sergeant and Administrator in the Air Force's Nuclear Defense Agency. Cremation has taken place. A mass and internment of the remains will take place at Gate of Heaven Chapel and Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming, N.E. on Tuesday, May 27, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. Flowers may be sent to Gate of Heaven Chapel or memorial contributions may be made to the Monastery of Christ in the Desert, P.O.
