Obituary for Jaramillo

Anthony"AJ" Jaramillo, 54, of Santa Fe, passed away Sunday June 8, 2003 after breathing his last few breaths that allowed him to play the sport that he loved most, baseball, in an Albuquerque tournament with his son, Mike, and surrounded by many family members. He was born on May 18,1949 in Ojo Caliente and moved to Santa Fe and became an active member of society. His passions in life were his family, friends and of course - Baseball. He is survived by his parents, Manuel and Alice Jaramillo; children, Angela and husband, Mark Garcia, Theresa Jaramillo and fiance, David Martinez, Mike Jaramillo and brother, Javier Molina, and Cynthia and husband, Isaac Del Rio; grandchildren, Gabriel Garcia, Ryan Gonzales and Molana Del Rio. Also survived by brothers, Ruben and wife, Jean Jaramillo, Marty and wife, Frances Jaramillo; sisters, Mary Elaine and husband, Dennis Hernandez, and Evy and husband, Albert Gallegos; numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, relatives and many, many friends-he knew no strangers. AJ was known as very loving and outgoing and was much more than just a father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, mentor, coach and friend. He touched so many lives and hearts at so many different levels. He coached baseball for the last 25 years and touched many lives while fulfilling his passion in life. He was also a baseball manager, umpire, baseball expert and avid photographer. In everything that he pursued in life he exceeded the expectations of those around him by exemplifying what it meant to live life to the fullest. He mentored, taught, and made those who needed it, laugh. His high ethical standards and morals could be viewed on the playing field or by the many people he touched and loved. His sense of humor, kindness, generosity and devotion to his loved ones will be sincerely missed. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at 6:00 p.m. where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. at St. John s the Baptist Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 12, 2003, 10:00 a.m. at St. John's the Baptist Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rosario Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Jaramillo, Marty Jaramillo Jr., Dennis Hernandez Jr., Albert Gallegos Jr., Carl Gallegos and Steven Gallegos. Honorary pallbearer will be Robert Yardman. Arrangements are under the direction of Berardinelli Family Funeral Service, 1399 Luisa Street, 984-8600.
