Obituary for Axline

Marie Anderson Axline, 91, a resident of Albuquerque, was born April 27, 1912 in Pine Castle, Florida and died Thursday, June 26, 2003. She attended college at The University of Missouri and graduated with a degree in Journalism in 1933. Soon after, she married E.C. (Bud) Axline. Soon after, they moved to Salina, Kansas. They moved to Albuquerque in 1942 so Bud could pursue his Engineering career. In 1945, their first and only child, Bruce was born. Marie was a member of Gamma Phi Beta for over 70 years. She was also a volunteer at the Albuquerque Assistance League for over 20 years. Marie was also involved with the Albuquerque Trap Club throughout the 1960s. She was also active in bridge clubs at the Elks Club and Four Hills Country Club for many years. In her later years, she made numerous trips to various parts of the world. Marie was predeceased by her husband, Bud Axline; her granddaughter, Brenda Axline; and her sister, Edith Gunther. She is survived by her brother, Lawrence Anderson of Lindale, TX; one sister, Dorothy Osborn of Culver, Indiana; another brother, Jack Anderson of Dripping Springs, TX; and a son, Bruce Axline of High Rolls, NM. Services will be held Saturday, June 28, 2003, at 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Interment will take place Monday, June 30, 2003, at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
