Obituary for Reid

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Wednesday July 09, 2003

Holly Dreyer Reid was born 50 years ago on February 7, 1953 in Zumbrota, MN. She moved to Albuquerque, NM when she was 6 years old and graduated from Sandia High School and later from U.N.M., where she created beautiful unique ceramics. An artistic soul, she expressed her creativity in everything she did, but especially as a designer and seamstress who specialized in vintage clothing restoration. Some of her happiest moments were spent dancing to the rhythm of her favorite reggae bands. The greatest joy in her life, however, was her son, Devon, whom she was totally devoted to. Holly was a woman with a large, generous heart, a spiritual person who profoundly loved and appreciated all the beauty in the world and had a talent for bringing beauty to all whom she loved. Holly passed away quite unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 1, 2003. In addition to her son, Devon, she is lovingly remembered by her parents, Marian and Henry Dreyer; her two sisters, Kyla Wood and Sabra Armijo; two brothers-in-law, Lloyd Wood and Frank Armijo; two nephews, Jascha Wood and wife, Tanya and son, Caleb and Chelan Wood and wife, Angela and their children, Olivia and Miles; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and all her friends whose lives were touched by her peaceful spirit. A private family memorial gathering was held on Saturday, July 5th and friends came to gather later in the day at her sister Kyla's home. Memorial contributions can be made to an educational fund for Devon Reid at Compass Bank, Menaul Branch.
