Obituary for Harris

Owen F. Harris, 93, #1 Lobo fan, #1 Cubs fan - longest and oldest fan of Rosie Jones - resident of Albuquerque in the 20's and 30's and since 1972, died Tuesday, July 8, 2003. He is survived by daughter Patti Sue Logenbach and husband Roger of Scottsdale, AZ; son, Warren O.F.Harris of Albuquerque; grandson, Joe Longenbach of Severna Park, MD; grandson Roger Owen G. Longenbach of Los Angeles, CA; great-grandson, Robert Owen Longenback of Los Angeles, CA; sister, Ann Krauss and husband Robert of Peralta, NM; brother, Joseph Harris of Albuquerque, NM; brother, Jackson Harris M.D. and wife, Gene of Nashville, TN; niece, Anna Voltura, M.D. of Santa Fe, NM; and friends, Charles"Digger" Moore, Richard Lamoureaux and Grant Valpey, of Albuquerque, NM; Paul Palmer and friends at Hometown Buffet and friends at the Paradise Hills Country Club and many others. Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his parents, Alice Fallis Harris and Dr. J & J Harris and sister, Louise, all of Albuquerque, NM. Owen Harris played varsity basketball for Albuquerque High School, UNM and Bull State College. He graduated from Northwestern Medical School, Chicago, Ill. He retired as a consultant chemist from General Mills, Inc. in 1972. Cremation has taken place. A brief memorial service will be conducted graveside by Rabbi, Attorney and Country Singer John Feldman at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menual N.E. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to UNM Lobo Club, c/o Dr. Owen F. Harris, 1414 University Blvd. NE, 87131 or to LPGA Junior Association in honor of Rosie Jones.
