John M. Whitney, 86, a resident of Albuquerque and formerly of Minneapolis, Minnesota, died Monday, July 14, 2003. His wife of 50 years, Adaline Whitney of Albuquerque; daughter, Diane Riley and husband, Ed of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Brenda Riley of Albuquerque and Brian Riley of El Paso, Texas; and five great-grandchildren survive him. Mr. Whitney was born and raised in Minnesota and moved to Albuquerque with his wife in 1984. He was a musician who played in his own band and belonged to the Musicians Union at one time. He was also a member of Minneapolis Teamsters Union. Entombment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park. French Mortuary 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE 275-3500
