Dr. Bruce K. Shively, former Albuquerque resident, was killed July 5, 2003 in a hiking accident near Portland, Oregon. Dr. Shively was a cardiologist on the UNM faculty and worked at the VA and University Hospitals. His area of expertise was echocardiography. Dr. Shively is survived by his father; two step-brothers; two half-brothers; and two half-sisters. A Memorial will be held for friends and colleagues on July 20, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the home of Dr. Erika Gelgand, 2403 Elfego NW. In lieu of flowers, friends request donations be made to Escalante National Park. Information regarding these donations will be available at the memorial service.
