Mr. Joe S. Mendez Sr., 66, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on July 23, 2003. Mr. Mendez is the beloved husband of 42 years to Mrs. Sally Mendez. Mr. Mendez is also survived by two sons, Joe S. Mendez and wife, Eva and Mark Mendez; three brothers, Jesse Mendez and wife, Nena of Gardena. Ca., Lupe Calleroz, Steve Calleroz and wife, Rosie; two sisters, Margie Ramirez, Terri Doremus and husband Bob; two grandchildren, Brandon and Cody Mendez. Mr. Mendez was a member of the Catholic Church and a Veteran of the United States Air Force. A visitation for Mr. Mendez will be Sunday afternoon in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel from 2:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 3:00pm by Eileen Montoya. A final viewing will be Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 811 Guaymas Place with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming NE.
