Garland Harris born July 16, 1938, died June 27, 2003 in San Miguel del Allende, Mexico. Garland was a beloved activist for peace and justice. In Albuquerque in the 80's and 90's she worked with the Albuquerque Center for Peace and Justice, Citizens for Alternatives to Radioactive Dumping, Women's Resource Center and lesbian and gay causes. She moved to Mexico six years ago and remained active. In March she helped organize a demonstration of Americans against the war against Iraq. 100 friends celebrated her life in Mexico. Albuquerque friends are invited to a Memorial on Sunday, July 27, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at the Albuquerque Center for Peace and Justice, 202 Harvard SE, 87106.
