Obituary for Dougherty

Thomas Robert Dougherty, passed away July 22, 2003, after a long and valiant battle with cancer. He is survived by his sons, Steve Dougherty and wife, Yael and John Dougherty; daughter, Amy Cantrall; granddaughters, Ashley and Jessica Cantrall; grandsons, Dustin and Kayne Dougherty; brother, Bill Dougherty and wife, Billie of Sioux Falls, SD; sister, Susan Mickey and husband, Bob of Tulsa, OK; and brother, Mike Dougherty and wife, Kathy of Minneapolis, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents William J. and Alice Walsh Dougherty. Born in Sioux Falls, SD, August 10, 1929, he graduated from Washington High School and attended the University of South Dakota and South Dakota State. Tom served with the South Dakota Air National Guard during the Korean Conflict. He moved to Albuquerque in 1963 to work for Mutual of Omaha. Over the years, Tom worked for several car dealerships and ended his career in 1998 after 20 years with Galles Chevrolet. He loved his grandchildren, cars and sports of all kinds, but especially golf. A memorial mass will be celebrated Thursday, July 31, 2003, 10:00 a.m., at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Father Richard Olona presiding. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the University of Minnesota Center for Prostate Cancer, MMC806, 420 Delaware St. SE, Minneapolis, MN 55455.
