Obituary for Ankeny

Claude Ankeny, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away on July 20, 2003 after an 11 battle with cancer. He was 72. Claude is survived by three children, Marsha Leatherwood, Lewis Ankeny, Michael Ankeny, also his wife, Elizabeth Ankeny and her children, Rob Duprey, Donna Gutierrez, Linda Perea; and his brothers, Ron Ankeny and Bob Ankeny. His daughter, Lee Ann Fudge; Elizabeth's son, Tim Duprey; and his brother, Royce Ankeny preceded him in death. He has 12 grandchildren; and one great -grandchild. Many sought him out for his excellent artistry and craftsmanship in carving and carpentry. He will be remembered as a fun guy with a great sense of humor who always had a joke to tell. A Memorial Service will be held at Albuquerque Bible Church at 320 Montano Rd. NW on July 24, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. and a Burial Service will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:15 p.m. the same day. Claude was a veteran of the Korean War. His family and friends will miss him greatly.
