Obituary for Ambrose

Howard J. Ambrose, 83, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2003. He was born to Jennie and Patrick Ambrose on March 21, 1920 and was preceded in death by his parents; and younger brother, Francis. Howard graduated from St. Mary s High School in 1937 and briefly attended the University of New Mexico before serving in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during World War II and the Korean War. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lorraine L. Lenicheck; four children, Richard of Albuquerque, Janice of Stanwood, WA, Diane of Albuquerque, and Robert of Albuquerque; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Howard was an employee with Mountain Bell Telephone for 40 years, and retired in 1980. Services will be held Friday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Ambrose, Robert Ambrose, Edward Di Bona, Shawn Ambrose, Gary Samlin, Daniel Hillerman and Joe Beppe Bandoni. Honorary pallbearers will be Dave Gonzales, Joe Ross and Jimmy Harris.
