Obituary for Tafoya

Albino C. Tafoya, born May 8, 1919, deceased July 11, 2003. Mr. Tafoya was born in Contreras, NM, and was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, he attended Sacred heart School, joined the Army Air Corps and was a W.W.II veteran. Mr. Tafoya owned and operated Tafoya's Grocery in South Barrelas along with his wife, Rose. He retired from Kirtland AFB, after 22 years of government service. He is survived by his wife, Rose of 63 years; children, Joseph B. Tafoya, Mary D. Guyse, Al Tafoya, Lorraine Bivins and her husband, Robert and Leo Tafoya; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A mass will be celebrated Wednesday at the Sacred heart Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Church. Pallbearers will be Leo Tafoya Jr., Benny Tafoya, Burr Halstrum, Walter Martinez, Bobby Candelaria and Derrick Trujillo. Arrangements by: Salazar & Sons Mortuary 400 Third St. SW 247-4124
