Carol Birkenfeld, Nazareth, Texas. Funeral Services for Carol Birkenfeld, 66, of Nazareth will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2003 at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Nazareth with Father John Kodankandath officiating. Mr. Birkenfeld died Sunday, August 24, 2003 at his home in Nazareth following a lengthy illness. He was born March 2, 1937 in Rhineland, Texas. He graduated from Nazareth High School in 1955 and served in the U.S. Army following the Korean War. He married Mildred Fetsch on June 1, 1965. Mr. Birkenfeld was a farmer and rancher. He was preceded in death by his father, Chris; a brother, Clarence; and a son, Paul in 1989. He is survived by his wife, Mildred; and his mother, Rose of Nazareth; four sons and Daughters-In-Law, Phillip and Mary Birkenfeld and children James, Shiloh, Ashley, Jamie, and Kyra of Amarillo; Patrick and Susan Birkenfeld and Children Brandy, Slade, and Brittany of Snyder; Leroy and Asia Birkenfeld and Children Kyler, Abbyegale, and Emma Rae of Dimmitt; and Chris Birkenfeld of Nazareth; three daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy and Marty Wells and Son Noah of Amarillo; Linda and Luis TaFoya and daughter, Sara of Albuquerque; Christy and Shawn Christian and daughter Alexandra of Amarillo; four brothers and two sisters. Rosary and Wake services will be held on Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m. at the CCD Building in Nazareth. The family suggests memorials to the Holy Family Catholic Church in Nazareth or B.S.A. Hospice in Amarillo.
