Walter E. Lawler, 78, a resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, August 23, 2003. He is survived by his sons, John Lawler of Fairfield, CT and Thomas Collins and his wife, Martha of Albuquerque; daughters, Patricia Nahoney and Theresa Flinn, both of Columbus, OH, and Margaret Collins and husband, Kenneth of Stratford, CT and nine loving grandchildren. Mr. Lawler was born in Whitestone, NY to John and Margaret Lawler. He was a veteran of WWII where he received the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal. Mr. Lawler was a retired officer of the New York Police Department. He then worked with Mountain Bell until 1980. Mr. Lawler was a member of the American Legion 49 and VFW in Albuquerque. nterment of cremains will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date.
