Obituary for Reiter

Martin L. Reiter, 49, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, August 23, 2003. Martin is survived by his lover of 21 years Richard Wade, his dear friend and adopted mother, Adelina Wade, brothers, David, wifem Darby, Steve, wife, Beverly, Phil, Tom, wife, Junko, Arthur, wife, Joanne; and sister, Mary Reiter Cotton, husband, Tom; many nephews, nieces and friends. Martin was born and raised in Carlsbad NM, graduated with a degree in economics from NMSU, and then moved to Albuquerque where he was employed by the NM Dept. of Labor for 26 years. Martin was particularly proud of his work on the Departments, legislative efforts and as Operations Project Manager for both the Y2K fixes of UI system and of the UI Claims System and Development Project for which he traveled to India for beta testing. Martin was well respected and loved by his colleagues. He had many and varied interests including a love and support of the arts and Native American culture and religion. Martin lived life to the fullest and gave his family and friends unconditional love. Martin never saw a stranger - he met a new friend. Just being with Martin made you happy. Martin is a rare spirit and he will be sorely missed. A Memorial Service will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 400 Stover SW on Thursday, August 28, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sacred Heart Church for the Tower Memorial, which was dear to Martin's heart.
