Obituary for Hidalgo

Clara Hidalgo, 93, a resident of Belen, NM, passed away on August 21, 2003 while surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 21, 1909 to Cristoval and Genoveva Castillo. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church and a member of Blessed Sacrament Society. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Eugenio Hidalgo in November of 1990, and one grandson, Erik Vigil in July of 2000. Clara is survived by her 2 sons, Santiago"Sandy" Hidalgo and his wife, Theresa of Albuquerque, NM; Joe Hidalgo and his wife, Hilda of Belen; her 3 daughters, Dolores Vigil and her husband, Richard of Belen; Josephine Hidalgo Cordova of Austin, TX; and Corine Fike of Albuquerque; her 17 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; and 5 great great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Maxine Hidalgo of Clovis, NM; Florinda Aragon of Santa Fe, NM; and brother-in-law, Lalo Hidalgo and his wife, Erlinda of Albuquerque, NM. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. The family of Clara would like to send a special thanks to Cathy Cook and Leola of Zia Hospice. All services will take place at the Pueblitos Catholic Church. A viewing will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2003 at 5:30pm with a rosary following at 6:00pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 25, 2003 at 11:00am with interment following at the Bosque Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sam Barreras, Jimmy Hidalgo, Jerald Hidalgo, Roxanne Baca, Rodney Marks, and Kevin Cordova. Honorary Pallbearers will be Eddie Peralta, Andres Castillo, Filimon and Arsenio Molina, and Salomon Gonzales. Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main St., Belen, NM 87002.
