Obituary for Mcwatters

Alicia Faye McWatters age 43, died Thursday August 21, 2003, Alicia was born in Gloucester, Ma to Daniel H. George and Nancy George (Burnham). Alicia dropped out of high school at the age of 17 but went back and received her GED at age 19. She went on to receive a Doctor of Philosophy in Nutrition in 1998. Alicia danced professionally as a ballerina in both Boston and in New York until retirement in 1986. Alicia is survived by her husband Bruce McWatters whom she married in 1987. She and Bruce began raising parrots in 1988. Alicia wrote countless articles on pet nutrition, specializing in parrot nutrition. She was a breeder of parrots, ostriches and show beagles. Her passion in the past few years was showing dogs in conformation. She authored ¯A guide to a Naturally Healthy Bird¯ and co-authored ¯Super Nutrition for Animals and Birds Too. Alicia is also survived by her two sons Travis and Tyler McWatters, both of Edgewood, her mother Nancy Burnham of Peabody, Ma., brother Dan George, sister Janet Riley and a nephew, Joshua Riley all of Massachusetts. Alicia was a member of the Mountainside United Methodist church in Cedar Crest, New Mexico.
