Obituary for Nolasco

Louise Nolasco, age 78, made her journey into the arms of our Lord on August 19, 2003. She was born on August 19, 1925, to Petrita and Frank Montoya in Jemez Springs, NM. She worked as a nurse in Santa Fe for many years and had a great respect for all in the medical field. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Louise was preceded into Glory by her first husband, Anastacio Garcia; second husband, Joe Nolasco; daughters, Lucille Garcia, Roberta Nolasco-Martinez; sons, James and Joseph Nolasco; and brothers, Henry, Frank, Tony and Martin Montoya. She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Gloria (Santos) Corriz, Frances Martinez, Olivia Garcia, Gerlinda (Oscar) Riojas, Victoria (Bret) Daniels, Louella Garcia and Anna Nolasco; sons, Richard (Gina) Nolasco and Billy Orlando Nolasco; sisters, Lillie Martinez, Julia (Lee) Sandoval; brothers, Avenicio (Rose) Montoya, Toby Montoya; 24 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and dear friends. She was a pillar of strength and will be greatly missed by all, including her two dogs, Shadow and Chispa, which she adored. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons Aaron Corriz, Isaac Martinez, Jason Nolasco, Marcus Riojas, Patrick Marsh, and Julian Garcia. Honorary pallbearers include her grandsons, T.J. Ortiz, Andrew Martinez, Matthew Martinez, and Jimmy Joe Quintana. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 21, 2003, from 5:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. with a Rosary following at 7:00 p.m. at McGee Memorial Chapel. Mass of the Resurrection will be Friday, August 22, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Cathedral; burial will follow at the Rosario Cemetery Chapel. McGee Memorial Chapel 1320 Luisa Street 983-9151
