Obituary for Moor

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday August 10, 2003

A woman described by family and friends as"one of a kind" has died just shy of her 99th birthday. Mary (Hampton) Moor died quietly in her sleep at Albuquerque's Robin House Care Center on July 22, 2003. (Her seven surviving great nieces and nephews agree it's one of the few times in her long and bustling life that she was quiet.) Mrs. Moor's family says she was always surprising them in one way or another with her no-nonsense perspective on the world. Her conversation was peppered with old-time folk sayings stemming from her Louisiana childhood. She had a lifelong conviction that there was always some place to go and something to do. Mrs. Moor's life will be celebrated at a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 14 at Chapel of Sunrise. Sunrise Funeral Options 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE Albuquerque, NM 87109 (505) 821-0010
