Obituary for Wentz

Mary Felicitas Wentz, 96, a resident of Albuquerque died peacefully in her sleep early Sunday, August 3, 2003 at Manzano Del Sol in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her husband, Colonel R. R. Wentz. She was the daughter of Judge Lawrence J. Horan and Agnes Logan Horan of Muscatine, Iowa. They and her siblings Thomas, John, Agnes and Frank Horan all preceded her death. She is survived by her niece, Beth Horan of Albuquerque, Jim Horan of Boston, Massachusetts and Tom Horan of Albuquerque; several great and grand nieces and nephews; step grandchildren, Craig Sherman and Leslie Townsend of Atlanta, Georgia. She was a member of Holy Ghost and Our Lady of Fatima Catholic parishes during her fifty years of living in Albuquerque. She was a long and active member of the Garden Club of Albuquerque having served as President, Treasurers, Historian, and as an active involved member. She had been a nurse in Muscatine, Iowa and Rock Island, Illinois and was a long time volunteer at the Albuquerque Veterans Hospital. The family would like to express their appreciation that Mary and the entire family feels for the staff of Manzano Del Sol for the many kindness extended to Mary and for the care and consideration they give to her and other residents of Manzano Del Sol. Rosary will be recited Tuesday, 6:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE. A reception will be held after the Rosary at the home of Tom Horan. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima, 4020 Lomas Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
