Obituary for Madrid

Pacomio Madrid, 94, a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, died Thursday, August 28, 2003, surrounded by his family. A resident of Albuquerque since 1995, he was born on September 01, 1908 in Canjilon, NM to Nabor and Cipriana Madrid. Pacomio was the beloved husband for seventy two years of Magdalena Madrid who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a son, Nabor Madrid, and a sister, Gomicinda Baca. He is survived by two sons, Herman Madrid and wife, Andrellita of Cebolla, NM; Juanito Madrid and wife, Connie of Albuquerque, NM; three daughters, Nancy Garcia and husband Mizel Garcia of Espanola, NM; Cruz Silva of Albuquerque, NM; and Cipriana Martinez and husband, Egripino of Canjilon, NM; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; God-daughter, Fabiola Sandoval; and numerous other beloved relatives and friends. Pacomio will also be missed by many of his friends from the Valle Norte Caring Center Visitations will be on Friday, August 29 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Blocks-Salazar Mortuary, Espanola, NM; and from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the San Juan Nepumoceno Church, Canjilon, NM. A Rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the San Juan Nepumoceno Church. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am at San Juan Nepumoceno Church. Internment will follow at the Canjilon Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons; Ernesto Salazar, Mizel Garcia Jr., Rick Leyba, Anthony Garcia, Herman Madrid, John Madrid, Carlos Garcia, and Rey Madrid. Honorary Pallbearers will be grand-daughters; Diane Madrid, Laurie Vigil, Maggie Young, Rhonda Miranda, Guadalupe Mercure, Theresa Leyba, and Patricia Salazar.
