Obituary for Clifford

Merle Dee Clifford, age 71, beloved father, brother, friend and neighbor was called home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, August 27, 2003. Merle was born in Brewster, KS to the late Ervin and Millie Clifford; and was a resident of Llaves, NM; where he made his home after this family traveled by covered wagon from Colorado to Lindrith, NM. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army; and served time in Germany, during the Korean War. He retired from Southern Pacific Railroad in 1992 after 36 years of employment. Merle was a devoted father to his children, Melanie and Brandon Clifford; and to his precious grandchildren, Sean Devine, Danny Garcia and Jasmin Baca who all survive him. He is also survived by one sister, Helen Hedgecoke of Michigan; brothers, Jimmie Dale and Robert Clifford of Oregon, and Raymond Clifford of Oklahoma; his former wife Joann Clifford; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives; and friends. Merle will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those who knew and loved him. Graveside services will be conducted Monday, September 1, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Clifford Ranch in Llaves, NM. Services are entrusted to: Alameda Mortuary 9420 4th Street NW 898-3160
