James Shelby Melvin, 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1964, died Tuesday, August 26, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jo Melvin of Albuquerque; son, Thomas L. Melvin and wife, Rochelle of Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Nancy Ulibarri and husband, Theodore of Loveland, CO; five grandchildren, Laura Harrington and husband, Kevin of Riverton WY; Joyce Jarman and husband, Lance of Springfield, MO; Mindy McIntyre and husband, James of Albuquerque; Michelle Dearholt and husband, Jimmy of Albuqurque; Cassandra Melvin of Albuquerque; and seven great-grandchildren. James was preceded in death by a son, Paul Melvin and daughter, Cecilia Melvin. He retired from the United States Air Force after 23 years of service, and worked 15 years for Sears. James was a member of St. Mark's on the Mesa Episcopal Church. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, 3:00 p.m. at St. Marks on the Mesa Episcopal Church, with The Reverend David Luckenbach officiating.
