Obituary for Gonzales

Jake Joaquin Gonzales, 87 of Albuquerque New Mexico, left this world peacefully on March 6th to join his wife Jessie who preceeded him in death in 2001. Jake served in the U.S. Army in 1946 and received a Victory Medal. He was a very active member of the American Legion, he served as the Commander and Sergeant of Arms for Post 69. During his life he worked as a Welder, Furniture Salesman, Head waiter and retired as a Long Haul Truck from Illinois, California Express (ICX)where he was also active as a Teamster. Jake is survived by his children, Thomas, James, Richard and Carolyn Sandoval, his sisters Conception and Gregorita Gonzalez, and six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Visitaions will be held form 2 to 5 p.m. at the Salazars and Sons Mortuary Sunday. A Rosary will be Sunday at 5 p.m. March 9th at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 4th and Alameda, Funeral Service will be Monday at 9 a.m. at the church. Burial will Follow at the Santa National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Sandoval, John Valdez, Florencio Sandoval, Daniel Armijo, John Trujillo,and Michael Cisneros; Honorary Pallbearers are Shannon Coffee and Richard Baca.
