Obituary for DEWITT

Ellen B. DeWitt, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1933, died Wednesday, September 3, 2003. She is survived by her grandchildren, Charles N. DeWitt and Elizabeth A. DeWitt, both of Albuquerque, Edwyn J. King Jr. and wife, Julie of Sharpsville, CA, and Stephen M. King of Tacoma, WA; sister, Maxine L. Pruitt of Albuquerque; and daughter-in-law, Phyllis S. Kenderdine and husband, Eugene of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. DeWitt, son, Charles B. DeWitt, and daughter, Sheila M. King. Mrs. DeWitt was born in Lewiston, ID and moved to Albuquerque in 1933. She was active for many years with the State Fair. Mrs. DeWitt was a longtime member of Ada Chapter No. 5, Grand Chapter of New Mexico Order of Eastern Star, White Shrine, General Federation of Women's Club Progress Women's Club. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was known for her graciousness and generosity of spirit and love of family and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Services will be held Monday, September 8, 2003, 10:00 a.m., at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 924 Menaul NE, with Pastor Patricia Holman officiating. Entombment to follow.
