GARCIA, MANUEL G. Age 87, passed away on March 4, 2015, peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was a WWII veteran, beloved husband for 67 years, a devoted father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was born on December 24, 1927 in La Joya, NM to Cipriano and Contrada Garcia and resided in Albuquerque for most of his life. He was preceded by his parents, sister Viola, daughter Katherine and great-grandson James. He is survived by his wife Amelia Garcia; daughters Susan, Margaret and Louise; brother Frank; sister Bennie; and many spoiled grandchildren. He had tremendous faith in the Lord and could always be found reading his Bible. He was a successful carpenter who built the home where we all come together as a family. He cherished his children and grandchildren and always wanted what was best for everyone. He had a joy for life and loved to sing and play his harmonica to anyone who would listen. He loved being outside working and towards the end he would love to sit outside in the sun and just watch. Services will be held on March 10, 2015 at San Jose Parish (old church). The viewing, Rosary and Mass will start at 9:30 a.m., followed by a celebration of his life at American Legion Post 13.
