GIRON, ANDREA B. Age 95, beloved mother of 14 children, grandmother and sister passed away peacefully Saturday, February 21, 2015, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in San Acacia, NM on September 2, 1919 and lived most of her life in Albuquerque. Andrea will be remembered for her delicious cooking, especially her homemade bread and red chile. Her home was always open to family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfredo and Margarita Benavidez; husband, Pilar Giron; sons, Steve, Phillip and Victor Giron; daughters, Margaret Padilla, Angel Hall and Christine Baca; grandsons, Tony Lee and Christopher Giron; brother, Joe Benavidez; sisters, Terry Montoya, Susie Padilla, Ascension Montoya and Adela Ryals. Andrea is survived by five sons, Bernie and wife, Doris, Randy and wife, Kathy, Rick and wife, Gloria, Pilar and wife, Felicia, Ramey and wife, Aime; three daughters, Tina Patton and husband, Dan, Rosie Maron and husband, Dr. Barry, Yolanda Giron and partner, John Martinez; son-in-law Louie Padilla; brother, Ernest Benavidez and sister Lita Pino and husband, Joe; sister-in-law, Novie Benavidez; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at San Jose Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Gary Padilla, Martin Otero, Jason Patton, Sam Giron, Rick Giron II and Brian Giron.
