Obituary for CARMER

CARMER, JOSEPH O. Age 80, beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, passed away 2/4/15. Joe was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM. Joe always had a special ability to work on automobiles. He was a true craftsman with lead metal finishing. Joe started Carmer's body shop 56 years ago, and the shop continues to operate today. He has mentored many people in the automotive trade, from teaching them at TVI, (now called CNM) to training them in his body shop. Many have gone on to own and operate successful body shops around Albuquerque and the United States. Joe was also president of Albuquerques Parents without Partners for a time. He spent a lot of time helping children with only one parent in their homes. He would take them camping, fishing, hiking and help them fix their pedal bikes. There are to many things to list here, but GOD knows all. He was preceded in death by his parents Oliver and Mary Carmer, brother Bill Carmer, sisters Eleanor Miller and Betty Kirby and very special friend Nancy Wood. Joe is survived by his four children, Joe and Vonda Carmer, Sue and Ben Garcia, Mike and Leslie Carmer, Ken Carmer and laurel Howard and also Jerry Moseley; eight grandchildren, JT Carmer, John Carmer, James Carmer, Heather Morgan, Amber Sandager, Ryan Carmer, Shane Carmer and Cale Carmer; and seven great-grandchildren.
